Diego Lopez Redeems Himself with Stunning TKO Win Over Jeão Silva

Diego Lopez made a powerful return to form by stopping fellow Brazilian Jeão Silva in the main event of No Body UFC: Lopez vs Silva at the Frostbank Center in San Antonio. Ranked second in the featherweight division, Lopez ended Silva’s 13-fight win streak with a spinning back elbow and follow-up punches, securing a TKO at 4:48 of the second round.

The win helped Lopez rebound from his recent title fight loss to Alexander Volkanovski. From the opening round, he displayed his jiu-jitsu dominance, grounding Silva and landing heavy elbows. In the second, Silva’s striking pressure backfired as Lopez countered perfectly, sealing the finish.

Post-fight, Lopez emphasized his elite status, saying, “I’m top-tier, and I proved that tonight.” He also had sharp words for Silva: “He talked too much. He needs to talk less and train more.” While Lopez is eyeing another title shot, he acknowledged it may take more wins to earn it.

The co-main event also brought surprises, with Mexican fighter and practicing orthopedic surgeon David “Black Spartan” Martinez upsetting veteran Rob Font via unanimous decision. Just six months into his UFC career, Martinez has already positioned himself as a serious bantamweight contender.
